Schneider Schirme

From zero to hero! valantic DXA supported Schneider Schirme with the website relaunch including store integration - but not right from the start. Despite taking over the customer during the ongoing project, it was implemented quickly and efficiently and completed on time. Summer can come.

The Customer

Xaver Schneider GmbH & Co. KG is a family-run company that has been manufacturing sunshades and garden umbrellas since 1868. The company is characterized by high product quality and regional production. Now in its fifth generation, Schneider Schirme is one of the market leaders in Europe.

Requirements

The customer wanted a complete relaunch of the company website including numerous features in order to provide an optimized customer approach and an improved service adapted to current requirements. A new online store was to provide the target groups with even more specific information about the numerous products and improve the user experience. In addition, relationships with sales partners were to be strengthened in the B2B area.

As the customer already had a PIM, this was also to be optimally integrated into the new system.

Implementation

Valantic DXA only took over the client Schneider Schirme during the ongoing project phase. In several workshops, the previous implementation was reviewed, missing components were defined and a roadmap for implementation was drawn up so that the relaunch and design revisions could be implemented by valantic DXA by the agreed deadline as originally planned. The initial PIM and parts of the layout were already in place at the start of the collaboration.

After a short familiarization phase, the Pimcore backend was further developed and the existing PIM was adopted. Store integration was also built in. Two different login areas were created in the online store for retailers and customers. As a special feature with a major impact on customer service and usability, a spare parts finder was integrated, enabling customers to quickly and easily find suitable spare parts for all products.

As the desired layout already existed in outline but had not yet been finalized, the valantic DXA creation department took over the optimization and completion of the design based on the existing ideas.

The content team also supplied new texts and the marketing department carried out a basic SEO optimization.

Due to the short implementation period, all departments had to work closely and efficiently together. Collaboration and communication with the client was particularly close to ensure the project was completed on time.
