valantic DXA Teamevents 2023

Let's go Team!

Smooth & effective teamwork is a key success factor in the daily work on our projects. We know that strong teams lead to exceptional results and therefore want to do everything we can to ensure that our team cooperates excellently and has good cohesion. We also want to promote cohesion between colleagues and harmonious cooperation beyond the teams. One of the ways we achieve this is with our annual cross-agency team events, which not only strengthen our team spirit but are also a lot of fun. Colleagues are free to choose which of the events they want to take part in.

Here is an insight into the 2023 team events:

Castle conquest

First on the agenda was the "castle conquest" team event.
Our group of 20 intrepid knights gathered to conquer Harburg Castle. Outside the castle, the participants met their two game leaders, who divided them into two groups. Each group went through the same stations, but not in the same order. There was an internal competition and a joint battle for the castle.
The first task - designing a powerful coat of arms - was still solved collectively. As no graphic design colleagues were present, the banner also served to cheer them up as they progressed.
Equipped with a compass, GPS and instructions, the groups set off to work their way through the numerous stations around the castle. These included a blindfolded orienteering run in the forest, transporting water between two points without touching the gutter elements and archery.
A special challenge was lighting a fire, where 8 men proudly gathered around a mini flame.
After both groups had successfully completed all the tasks, they were recognized as honorable conquerors of the castle. The gates were open for refreshments in the castle tavern and to celebrate their success.
It was an exciting day that was more like a cross-country hike with magnificent views than an actual conquest of the castle. Nevertheless, it was a lot of fun for all participants.

Magic Class

The magic class was the next event for our Team.
The team was warmly welcomed by the magician and his assistant. Both proved to be true magic enthusiasts with a fascinating collection of magic utensils on the premises. The reception began with an aperitif at an extensively stocked candy bar, which the team was allowed to help themselves to. Meanwhile, the magician performed a few first tricks.
Over the course of the afternoon, the team learned numerous card tricks and the art of making two balls out of one. It really felt like magic!
The day was rounded off with a communal burger lunch. During lively discussions, the team had the opportunity to get to know colleagues from other teams. It was a wonderful day that brought the team even closer together.

Brewing beer | Wieninger Brewery

At the third team event, our team was introduced to the art of brewing beer at the Wieninger brewery.
The team met at the Wieninger brewery and were given a brief introduction to the history of the company. The tour then began, during which the team brewed their own beer under the guidance of Wieninger's experts. There was a short break in between, during which everyone enjoyed a Weißwurst breakfast in the Bräustüberl. The team then continued the brewing process and learned interesting facts about hops and the chemical process of brewing beer. Before the beer was finished, the team returned to the Bräustüberl, where a freshly prepared roast pork with side dishes was already waiting for them. The event concluded with the final steps of the brewing process.
All in all, it was an interesting and exciting day, characterized by a relaxed atmosphere and the opportunity to get to know a new colleague.

Beer workshop | Birra08

The team in Barcelona also visited a local brewery.
The team met at a craft brewery called "Birra08", which was located in an ordinary apartment building in the middle of the city. The "08" in the name comes from the Barcelona zip code area, 08xxxx. The founder, Jordi, shared interesting facts about beer in general and engaged the team with questions. There was also an opportunity to visit the brewery, with Jordi explaining the brewing process.
The team sampled a total of 5 different beers, each served with delicious tapas. These included bread from a local bakery, cheese from the Pyrenees from Jordi's acquaintance, homemade calçot sauce (calçot is a type of spring onion) and brownies.
Afterwards, some of the team moved on and enjoyed a social gathering in a small, "local" bar with more food, drink and tapas. There was a lot of laughter and everyone had fun, while also having the opportunity to learn something new.

Summary

Our team events are more than just entertaining outings. They are an integral part of our success and our corporate culture. Each of these events has helped to bring our teams closer together and foster our creativity. It is important to us to go the extra mile to bring our ever-growing team closer together. After all, our success is based on our strong team.

P.S.: In addition to the four major cross-agency team events, our individual teams also have the opportunity to organize up to four additional team events internally each year.
...and let's not even get started on the parties ;)
